Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Taylor is an American actor and producer who is best known for the roles she performed in Ray Undercover Brother, The Mentalist and The TV show The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Aunjanue is a film and theater actress who is a producer. Her career in acting began at the theater. Later, she was a part of various TV shows including independent films as well as mainstream movies. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico while also appearing in BET's epic show The Book of Negroes. Both of the roles she earned critical acclaim, as well as numerous nominations and prizes, including her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. She made her professional acting debut with the character Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. Her stage credits include the Broadway show of Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. In the film industry, she's best known for parts like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. Also, she is well-known for her work on ABC's crime show High Incident.
